Cat’s Eye

Cat’s eye, or chatoyancy, is a unique optical phenomenon where a band of reflected light moves across the surface of a gemstone, resembling the slit pupil of a cat. This effect is caused by parallel fibrous or needle-like inclusions within the stone. While several gemstones can exhibit this effect, it is most prized and iconic in Chrysoberyl Cat’s Eye.
